Ed Smith

Ed Smith - Senior Advisor and President of Chamonix Associates. Ed has over 30 years of experience in the Computer, Information Technology, and Telecommunications industries. His functional experience includes extensive and successful experience in security, operations and sales management, maintenance services, training, education, crises management and enterprise process re-engineering. Over ten years with IBM Corporation beginning as a Mainframe Engineer, Technical Specialist and culminating as a Regional/Field Manager that directed the efforts of the Customer Engineers and dispatching staffs in Northern California. CEO and Chief Consultant of Innercomm, a San Francisco based consulting firm. Created the Department and functioned as head of the Crises Management organization for Control Data Corporation. He personally orchestrated resolutions to extraordinary and major problems worldwide. As a Sales Consultant for Control Data Corporation, developed and implemented sales and marketing strategies that increased sales volume in low producing areas. At Bell Atlantic, he was featured in their Annual Report for becoming the top producing Account Manager in the country. Functioning as a Senior Consultant with Chamonix Associates, he assumed third level management control of a GTE district of 110 technical service personnel/contractors, restructured the District, and returned it to profitability. For APS Engineering he successfully developed international sales for Consulting Services, Fax applications, and LDAP Applications. He is a co-creator and responsible for functional support of the Cyber Business Center (CBC). The organization worked in a partnership with San Francisco State University to create business and security tools for a base of 700 small and medium size businesses. The business and security tools were designed to allow small businesses to compete effectively in the Internet economy. Continues to work very closely as an advisor to the Computer Science, Engineering, and Business departments of San Francisco State University. He evaluated Computer Master Degree candidate projects and was a signatory for Master Degree qualification.
